"AI-Powered CEH v13 Transforms Ethical Hacking Capabilities"
  • The integration of Artificial Intelligence into the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) v13 curriculum by EC-Council marks a significant leap, enabling cybersecurity professionals to upskill themselves to combat evolving cyber threats more efficiently. Considered the top ethical hacking certification in the world, the move aims to educate and equip participants with in-demand AI skills.
  • The CEH v13 program emphasizes hands-on learning with 40 hours of training and year-long competitions spanning 550 attack techniques, imparting advanced skills to help participants defend their businesses against AI-driven cyberattacks.

Pioneering cybersecurity education and training services leader, EC-Council, has introduced a ground-breaking change to its Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) v13 curriculum: the integration of AI-powered capabilities in ethical hacking techniques. The updated CEH v13 certification, long regarded as the gold standard for ethical hacking, will provide cybersecurity experts with the knowledge and hands-on learning needed to leverage cutting-edge AI skills and tools.

With this new addition, participants can learn how to use AI to double their productivity and increase cybersecurity effectiveness by up to 40%. Professionals can also acquire knowledge in hacking AI systems to automate tasks and improve their defenses by integrating AI technologies into ethical hacking. The course spans AI-focused training across the five key stages of ethical hacking — reconnaissance, scanning, getting access, retaining access and burying tracks — for the comprehensive development of AI skills.

The Group President of the EC-Council, Jay Bavisi, stressed the importance of AI in cybersecurity, saying, “The cybersecurity landscape is already in the process of being drastically changed by AI. A significant advancement in cybersecurity education has been made with the release of CEH v13, as AI is now incorporated throughout the course. Employers looking for top cybersecurity personnel are finding that mastering AI skills is becoming increasingly important.”

Based on the 2024 CEH Threat Report from the EC-Council, the CEH v13 program will employ a distinct four-stage learning approach: Learn, Certify, Engage, and Compete. It will provide access to 4,000 commercial-grade tools and more than 220 practical lab sessions. To continuously improve their skills and drive competition, participants will also partake in year-long Capture the Flag competitions and real-world attack simulations.

Apart from being the first-ever ethical hacking training program including AI, CEH will include a six-hour practical hacking exam and a four-hour knowledge test. With an emphasis on crucial AI threats like quick injection, training data poisoning, and insecure output handling, CEH v13 will help cybersecurity professionals polish and improve their skills to be at the forefront of AI-powered ethical hacking.

EC-Councils’s revamped CEH v13 addresses the need to educate and upskill cybersecurity professionals on AI-driven technologies and tools. As ethical hacking remains a mainstay of the security testing world, giving professionals access to AI-powered capabilities will strengthen cybersecurity practices and policies around the world. While the EC-Council offers more than 200 training courses, certificates and degrees under its Certified Ethical Hacker program, the addition of AI will be one of the most significant and sought-after certifications by cybersecurity professionals.
