Qodo Raises $40M To Boost AI-Driven Coding

Tel Aviv – 30th September 2024 – Aiming to stand out among the AI code generation crowd, Qodo announced that its $40 million Series A funding will be used to focus on generating both code and tests with an emphasis on quality.

Qodo will develop solutions that leverage AI to streamline complex coding processes, supporting developers every step of the way with task-aware coding to automated code review and testing.

Qodo’s Series A funding was led by Susa Ventures, Square Peg, Firestreak Ventures and ICON Continuity Fund, along with its existing investors, TLV Partners and Vine Ventures.

The funding will help Qodo leverage AI to develop best practices for high-quality software development in enterprises. To achieve this, its solution integrates with popular integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, GitHub, GitLab and BitBucket. 

By enabling quick and seamless AI adoption into existing development workflows, Qodo aims to be at the forefront of delivering high-quality code with fewer bugs.

Its unique “quality-first” approach integrates features to reduce bugs at each stage of software development – from code creation to testing and deployment.

Qodo’s platform features a git agent, Chrome extension, and CLI tool to support developers at multiple touchpoints features a git agent, Chrome extension, and command line interface to help developers at multiple coding touchpoints.

Talking of its AI capabilities, CEO Itamar Friedman said in a press release that Qodo has been recognized as a Cool Vendor in AI-Augmented Development and Testing for Software Engineering by Gartner. Qodo is also a member of AWS’s Generative AI Accelerator, strengthening its capabilities in advancing AI-powered software development.

Since being founded in 2022, Qodo has found adoption from over a million developers worldwide, including some from Fortune 100 companies. Regarding its mission, the CEO said, “We call ourselves the first quality-first code generation platform for complex code. In order to enable quality-first code generation, we believe we need to integrate into the entire software development lifecycle.”
