Barcelona, Spain – October 3, 2024–Submer, the global leader in immersion cooling systems, has successfully raised $55.5 million in a growth funding round that is aimed at scaling the concept of sustainable AI factories and data centers.
The investment will push the organization towards developing more eco-friendly architectures in the fast-growing technology market.
The funding round which was spearheaded by Planet First Partners and Norrsken VC comes at a decisive moment in time where such infrastructures have been under the scrutiny of many stakeholders.
According to Submer’s CEO, Daniel Pope, the funds will enable the company to fast-track in its “green cooling solutions”
product development and will meet the subsequent demand for energy-efficient technologies.
The funds will enable Submer to lengthen its reach in the world and put more funding into research activities with the goal of designing solutions that would considerably mitigate energy consumption in operations of Artificial Intelligence and data centers.
This investment brings us closer to realizing our vision of sustainable digital infrastructure,” said Pope.
Most of these AI applications will naturally have a silicon cold-plate embedded in them, and as the demands for storage and AI proliferate so does the attention on Submer’s innovation in terms of cooling.
While the company expresses optimistic views about its future impact on these green technologies, it will be interesting to see how such development will help the advancement of the global technology industry itself.
No more information about the particular projects was provided, but Submer’s management gives an indication that notifications will be released in due course when the growth phase of the company is implemented.
