Sao Paulo, Brazil, October 9, 2024 — At the LATAM Fiber Broadband Leaders’ Summit 2024 held in Brazil, Huawei launched three state-of-the-art digital fiber solutions aimed at fast-tracking Latin America’s transition to gigabit fiber broadband.
More than two hundred sixty industry experts, carriers, and partners who gathered at the summit, discussed and explored the broadband infrastructure needs in the region as new digital services continue to emerge at a high speed.
The president of Huawei Latin America ICT marketing and solution sales department, Joey Zhou, has noted in the past that home broadband services in Latin America are driven by fiber technology with more than 60% of the market already in fiber technology as of the year 2024.
“Latin America’s digital economy is in a golden development period, digital services are accelerating, which has brought broad opportunities for value creation.”
” Huawei is willing to work with governments, regulators, carriers and industry partners to accelerate the development of Latin America’s gigabit optical broadband industry and jointly build a digital Latin America.”
Zhou noted while reiterating how well Huawei will assist in the region’s digital change.
Information and Communication Solutions, Huawei Carrier Network Marketing and Solutions Sales President Gary Lu spoke of three main strategies that help foster such transformation- all-optical transition, gigabit transition, and scenario-based transition.
“Fiber construction is rapidly advancing, and the gigabit era is here. Carriers must seize new business opportunities,” Lu stated.
The focus of these solutions is to increase speed and bandwidth, in addition to meeting new requirements posed by digital services like AI and smart homes.
Huawei also expressed its determination to continue working together with governments, regulators, and industry stakeholders to help Latin America transition into a fully digital and gigabit-connected region as soon as possible. The summit was a huge step in the advancement of a more connected and digital Latin America.
