October 21, 2024-Aidoc and NVIDIA took part in an event during which they announced an important project. This project is meant to enable the faster implementation of AI in healthcare by co-developing the BRIDGE guideline.
This detailed guideline, expected in early 2025, promises to address the current limitations associated with the deployment of AI in clinical practice. The BRIDGE guideline tries to assist healthcare systems in modifying their workflows and improving patient care by providing implementation guidance on AI tools.
There are over 900 approved AI tools by FDA but still, the industry fails to adopt AI solutions at scale because of siloed systems and processes not efficient enough.
“AI holds the potential to revolutionize patient care, but its progress has been stalled by fragmented systems and the inability to scale effectively,”
Said Demetri Giannikopoulos, Chief Transformation Officer, Aidoc.
“The BRIDGE guideline will focus on breaking down these barriers, offering a powerful, evidence-based framework that health systems can rely on not just adopt AI but to help scale it across their operations. This will drive both operational efficiency and significantly better outcomes for patients and clinicians alike.”
Aidoc and NVIDIA together will use MONAI, an AI platform already embedded in FDA-approved medical tools to facilitate the standard practice of developing, validating, and deploying AI-based solutions within the healthcare system.
The guideline, developed with input from healthcare providers, academic institutions, and industry leaders, will focus on real-world challenges and provide a vendor-neutral approach to scaling AI innovations across healthcare systems, offering transformative potential for the industry.
Such activities constitute yet another important way of getting closer to the full use of AI in the provision of care and enhancement of clinical outcomes.
