SEOUL, November 11, 2024 — In an effort to extend AI-deployable rubrics regarding in-car technologies, LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled the Digital Cockpit gamma, the latest in its Mobility Labworks series.
The gamma cockpit also incorporates three central systems known as Vision Display, Intelligent Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and Connectivity & Content which are an extension of the alpha and beta models which were unveiled a year ago.
With these systems, AI technology is employed to meet the needs of drivers and passengers, so typical interactions with vehicles are revolutionized.
To begin with, the Vision Display module with a Transparent OLED screen, as well as a retractable Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display, offers various visuals that are important for the autonomous driving future.
Moreover, an Intelligent HMI module with a steering wheel has a ‘self-learning AI’ controller for easy fingertip access to multimedia and navigation appliances.
“The Digital Cockpit gamma encapsulates the best of LG technologies for in-vehicle applications, exposing capabilities that are practical in their nature as much as they are innovative,”
Added the President of LG Vehicle Component Solutions Company Eun Seok-Hyun.
The Intelligent HMI which is integrated with LG’s AI-based virtual assistant can monitor drivers for their degree of fatigue, order beverages, and make payments via a fingerprint portfolio making it convenient as well as safe.
The Connectivity & Content module turns the back seat into a 5G seat with entertainment solutions powered by LG’s webOS, which allows for streaming, screen mirroring, and ride-sharing applications for effortless interaction and connection of the passengers.
This AI-based cockpit revolutionizes the way people interact with a vehicle by means of intelligent design elements and efficient assistance. This substantiates LG’s position as an innovative player in the automotive technology market.
