Factory Automation Reaches New Heights with Rockwell’s AI-Powered Digital Twins

Milwaukee, WI, 12 November 2024 – Rockwell Automation, an industry leader in automation, has announced the incorporation of NVIDIA’s Omniverse interactions into its Emulate3D™ digital twin program in furthering factory automation and further scaling automation operations.

With this collaborative solution, self-contained, factory-embedded AI digital twins for dynamic simulation for optimization and visualization of entire manufacturing configurations in real-time are introduced.

This integration, set for 2025, has the potential to greatly improve industrial operations by applying a combination of physics-based simulation and AI to resolve intricate automation problems for increased efficiency and lesser downtimes.

Blake Moret, the Chairman and CEO of Rockwell Automation, explained the significance of this integration:

“Our integration of Emulate3D with NVIDIA Omniverse is the most significant step towards making autonomous operations a reality!”.

Further to that, Rev Lebaredrian, NVIDIA’s Vice President of Omniverse and Simulation Technology, remarked that

”The transformation of manufacturing processes and automation is being accompanied by AI-driven digital twins.”

Supported by NVIDIA Omniverse’s advanced application program interface (APIs), Rockwell’s Emulate3D allows for a production factory walls simulation covering the factory scopes and allowing for better productivity enhancements in terms of flexibility and collaboration.

Emulate3D’s web app will facilitate real-time vendor-neutral connectivity pages that span from the automotive industry to the life sciences.

The digital twin technology driven by AI facilitates optimization of factories based off-site while it provides further possibilities for training and control testing in a cloud manner thus minimizing the risks during deployment.

The strides that have been made towards being autonomous put Rockwell Automation in the lead of manufacturers in the digital transformation.
