Santa Clara, CA – November 21, 2024-A new Intel report reveals that AI-powered PCs could help users reclaim approximately 240 minutes weekly from routine digital tasks like meeting transcriptions and email drafting. Despite this potential, 86% of respondents in the study admitted to being unaware of AI PCs or their capabilities.
The survey, conducted across Germany, the U.K., and France, highlighted that people spend nearly 15 hours a week on “digital chores.”
However, users of AI PCs often spend more time on these tasks than traditional PC users, a gap Intel attributes to inadequate consumer education.
“The AI PC offers consumers the opportunity to unlock greater creativity, productivity, and, most importantly, time to focus on what matters most. Effective use, however, depends on bridging the education gap,”
Said Robert Hallock, Intel Vice President and General Manager of Client AI and Technical Marketing.
Key findings include:
- AI PCs can optimize repetitive tasks such as data analysis and video editing.
- Real-time language translation and enhanced cybersecurity were identified as the most enticing features by respondents.
- Greater familiarity with AI PCs significantly increased users’ likelihood of adopting the technology, from 32% to 64%.
However, the study revealed significant skepticism, with 44% of participants perceiving AI PCs as “gimmicky” and 53% believing the technology targets only creatives and technical professionals.
The findings emphasize the need for widespread education and awareness to drive the adoption of AI PCs.
