HANOI, Vietnam, December 5, 2024 – Today, global tech leader FPT has become one of the main founders of establishing the Ethical AI Committee under VINASA. With pride, this initiative reflects the proactive stance that Vietnam has taken to ensure that innovations in AI are ethical and responsible and meet global standards to guarantee societal values and to ensure that development is sustainable.
The committee is going to plan an evacuation framework strong enough for the governance of AI activities. It will pay attention to transparency, accountability, and ethical deployment. This will be backed by FPT’s expertise built over the decade in AI, which will help establish international cooperation and thus address other risks such as data security, privacy, and ethical compliance.
Professor Yoshua Bengio is one of the many prominent AI experts who spoke about how responsible AI should be.
“As we continue to unlock the transformative potential of AI, it is crucial that we prioritize safety and ethical practices in its development. The challenge lies not just in advancing AI, but in doing so responsibly—ensuring that AI serves humanity without compromising our values and putting democratic institutions at risk.”
Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang, Chairman of the AI Committee, stated, “As a professional social organization with over 600 members in the ICT sector, VINASA places a strong emphasis on market development trends and emerging technologies, particularly AI. We are deeply concerned about the challenges AI presents, such as transparency, information security, privacy, humanity, and adherence to ethical standards. AI offers significant opportunities for Vietnam to engage on the global stage.”
Among the over 1,500 AI engineers that FPT has, there are also collaborations with global technological giants such as NVIDIA and Mila to regionalize Vietnam’s AI-driving future. This calls for Vietnam to be at the leadership frontier of ethical AI innovations balancing competitiveness with technology advancement accurately.
