Global technology consulting firm Thoughtworks, has teamed up with AWS – Amazon Web Services to help raise consciousness on GenAI, generative artificial intelligence solutions in the Asia-Pacific territory. The goal of this cooperation is to improve the performance of the companies functioning and the satisfaction of end-users to make the profit with the help of GenAI. This new partnership was revealed at AWS re: Invent 2024 event by one of the key speakers, member of the Thoughtworks’ leadership team and the chief client & revenue officer, Chris Murphy, who sketched the big picture of the great opportunity that this partnership has in converting the bunch of GenAI ideas into tangible and doable business themes.
As a consulting partner with AWS for several years, Thoughtworks is keen to advance and expand the strategic collaboration with AWS. This will be done more specifically and on a thoroughly prepared manner which was not the case before. According to Murphy this will enable both firms to co-ordinate the integration of the advanced GenAI solutions across the many client facilities. As a part of this alliance, Thoughtworks and AWS not only enhance the existing pre-existing relationship but also reaffirm their future direction to investing in generative AI.
A good example of this partnership is Thoughtworks’ engagements with the PEXA Group, which is an ASX-listed company that offers digital property exchange services and property intelligence solutions. Australia-based PEXA, which has recently opened an office in the United Kingdom and expanded there, worked together with Thoughtworks and AWS to create a GenAI Assistant on Amazon Bedrock, AWS’s service that grants first-degree access to foundation models through a single API. This assistant collaborates with internal knowledge resources in the form of training manuals, and standard operating procedures to provide the customer with integrated, tailored, relevant information.
As such, it had a positive influence on the PEXA functions by way of GenAI Assistant. From the case study, it has become clear that this solution has not only helped in improving the efficiency of the employees by cutting down the response time for a property information search from one minute to five seconds but also benefitted customers. The PEXA chief technology officer Eglantine Etiemble is delighted about Thoughtworks’ and AWS partnership initiative and their vast experience and state-of-art tools for achieving significant innovation.
Murphy also indicated that Thoughtworks together with AWS would be expected to provide similar capacities to other customers from the Asia-Pacific region and the given strung GenAI-sourced solutions would in return escalate and expand even further. He mentioned that Thoughtworks’ combined with AWS experience enables them to provide successful results and noted that their partnership rises to the top of the list for the driving force behind digital transformation in the area.
These are the developments for which Thoughtworks has committed to increasing the company’s expertise in generative services that AWS offers. The company has in the past been certifying 70 employees on AWS tools like Bedrock and Amazon Q and the plan from now in one year is to certify 200. This investment shows Thoughtworks’ dedication to insistent on the post of generative AI technology and how it can be applied.
It does exactly the same for AWS as positioning it as one of the leaders in generative AI and resonates with Thoughtworks’ promise of co-invention in the age of tech disruption.
