Samsung Highlights AI Expansion Beyond Smart Homes at CES 2025

Las Vegas – Samsung revealed its vision for AI technology beyond the home at CES 2025 in areas such as mobility, energy, retail, and maritime. SmartThings Pro, SmartThings for Cars, and SmartThings for Ships demonstrated the transformative power of AI to completely transform industries and enhance daily lives. 

SmartThings Pro highlighted AI solutions for businesses and communal spaces that would enable companies to work smartly by maximizing operational efficiencies and personalizing services. SmartThings Energy unveiled innovative sustainable technologies for decentralizing energy supply from solar panels to emergency power systems based on electrified vehicles. Meanwhile, SmartThings for Ships introduced the latest in maritime technology with automated navigation systems and scenario-based operational modes integrated for safer and smarter transport over the seas. 

Other highlights of the showcase included the high-intensity applications of AI in retail and office space developed for real-time inventory monitoring, automatic price updates, and smart meeting room environments. These include mobility solutions such as SmartThings for Cars, which connects homes to vehicles for distance convenience and effective energy management.

“The Smart Ship interactive simulation was incredibly impressive,” said Reshmee Semmen, an attendee from South Africa who expressed enthusiasm for Samsung’s promising potential in AI. “I’m excited to see how Samsung, with its long history, will continue to expand AI into so many fields.” 

Similarly, Erick “Alexander” Vargas from Mexico praised the practical energy-saving solutions enabled by SmartThings. “As someone active on social media, I want to spread the word that Samsung SmartThings offers practical solutions for energy savings and connectivity. I’m excited to share with my followers how Samsung is leading the way with its AI technologies.”

Samsung highlighted its commitments towards sustainability as well as accessibility in the Society zone, demonstrating its power through AI accessibility solutions along with global educational programs. Thus, Samsung underlined its contribution to building a sustainable connected future, demonstrating that AI is more than just smart homes.
