AI Veterans Launches AI Deployment Network ‘Parasail’

On April 2, AI industry veterans Mike Henry and Tim Harris launched Parasail, which is an AI Deployment Network for high-performance computing.

The platform offers AI-native companies on-demand access to GPUs at significantly lower costs. It potentially reshapes the landscape of AI infrastructure.

Parasail uses AI hardware, including H100s, H200s, A100s, and 4090s. It provides a truly on-demand compute supply without long-term contracts.

According to the company, it delivers more immediate GPU access than Oracle’s entire cloud, at 15-30x lower cost. The network also optimizes AI workloads through an orchestration engine that automatically matches tasks with the most efficient compute resources. It reduces idle costs and improves performance.

“Most cloud providers make the false promises of on-demand compute, and they fail to deliver on that promise,” Mike Henry, Founder and CEO of Parasail, said. “In reality, legacy cloud providers use small amounts of compute capacity to lure customers into long-term contracts. At Parasail, we are providing the first real-time, true on-demand access to massive compute without the hidden constraints.”

An AI expert, Henry previously founded Mythic, an AI hardware startup that raised $165 million in venture capital. Co-founder Tim Harris, CEO of Swift Navigation, brings deep expertise in high-performance computing. The company has secured $10 million in seed funding from Basis Set Ventures, Threshold Ventures, Buckley Ventures, and Black Opal Ventures.

Experts suggest that Parasail’s model could disrupt traditional cloud computing. “Legacy cloud providers weren’t built for AI, making it difficult and expensive for AI-native companies to access the compute they need. Parasail’s deployment network gives teams fast, affordable access to high-performance infrastructure—so they can focus on building and shipping breakthrough AI products,” said Harris.

Early adopters have already reported gains. AI research platform Elicit scaled real-time scientific paper screening with Parasail, while chatbot company Rasa improved model deployment in Europe. Companies migrating from OpenAI or Anthropic have reportedly cut costs by 15- 30x.
