Arctic Wolf today introduced Cipher, a next-generation AI security assistant built into its Arctic Wolf Aurora Platform.

Arctic Wolf Launches Cipher

According to the press release, it was developed in partnership with Anthropic to help organizations better detect cyber threats.

Built into the Aurora Platform, Cipher allows customers immediate access to deeper security insights without relying entirely on human analysts.

Cipher uses advanced large language models to summarize alerts, explore vulnerabilities, and identify incident trends.

It fetches information from Arctic Wolf’s massive data lake, which processes over 8 trillion security events every week across cloud, endpoint, network, and identity systems.

The company said Cipher is different from many AI security tools because it works across a wide range of technologies, not just one vendor’s products. Its high visibility allows it to provide richer, more actionable advice.

Cipher also benefits from years of human expertise, using insights gathered from Arctic Wolf’s global network of security operations centers.

Dan Schiappa, president, technology and services, Arctic Wolf, said, “As a fully integrated part of the Aurora Platform, Cipher gives customers new, intuitive ways to interact with their security data, whether that’s summarizing alerts, exploring vulnerabilities, or identifying incident trends. It’s about delivering flexibility and control, without ever compromising trust or accuracy.”

“Arctic Wolf’s breadth and depth of data, thanks to their open platform, make them positioned to bring generative AI to security operations in a meaningful and effective way,” Michael Gerstenhaber, VP of product, Anthropic, stated in the press release. “We’re proud to support Cipher’s development and excited to see how it empowers security teams with instant, reliable access to the intelligence they need.”

According to officials, privacy and data control will be the main priorities in developing Cipher.
