Capgemini to Launch AI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Egypt

On April 7, Capgemini announced the launch of a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (CoE) in Egypt, which is expected to go operational in May 2025.

The center will fast-track the adoption of generative and agentic AI technologies for clients across highly regulated industries such as energy, life sciences, and aerospace. With CoE, Capgemini is aiming to invest in research and development, collaborate with local academic institutions, and leverage technology partnerships to help accelerate client adoption of AI at scale.

The CoE will also serve as a testing ground for intelligent agents and advanced machine learning models designed to optimize operations. It will also help them to boost innovation across global markets, from Europe and the Middle East to the Americas and Asia.

“The AI Center of Excellence in this strategic location allows us to support our clients in scaling AI within their own businesses, ensuring they remain at the forefront of innovation,” Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini, said on the occasion of the France-Egypt Investment Forum.

“By investing in the region’s impressive talent and establishing this dedicated AI hub, we are not only fostering significant technological advancements but also creating a robust ecosystem for AI development. Our clients will benefit from enhanced service delivery, industry-specific solutions, and the unique advantages of being supported from Egypt,” he added further.

The Cairo-based hub will consist of a multi-disciplinary team of architects, data scientists, engineers, and project managers. At CoE, they will work on different solutions from ideation to implementation. With plans to double its Egyptian workforce to 1,200 by year-end, Capgemini is also reinforcing its commitment to regional growth and local talent development.

Hossam Seifeldin, CEO of Capgemini in Egypt, stated in a blog post, “Egypt is experiencing an impressive growth trajectory, fueled by digitalization and exceptional talent in AI. I am excited to build on the strong foundation we have established in the region. Doubling our workforce and establishing this new AI Center of Excellence will not only drive cutting-edge innovation but also create valuable opportunities for local talent to thrive in a global arena.”
