TORONTO, Oct. 11, 2024 – Celestica Inc. (Clauses: CLS) has launched DS4100, which is a 1U 800 G Switch and is expected to cater to the increasing demand in the arena of data centers and AI/ML workloads.
Officially released on October 11, 2024, in Toronto, Canada, DS4100 benefits from Broadcom’s TH4-12.8T chipset, boasting a 12.8T non-blocking switch capacity.
It allows various ports with speeds ranging from 100 GbE to 400GbE emphasizing its use in AI/ML, high-performance computing and hyper-scale data center usage.
Speaking about the significance of this addition, Gavin Cato, Head of Portfolio Solutions & CTO, of Connectivity & Cloud Solutions at Celestica said:
“With AI/ML fueling demand for high-performance data center switches, Celestica has developed a suite of powerful 800G switches that deliver high bandwidth and port density,”
He further added “The DS4100 delivers the performance required for demanding applications like AI/ML with the redundancy and flexibility required of modern data centers.”
DS4100 comes with 16x 800G OSFP ports and guarantees flexibility with features such as field-replaceable fans and extra power supplies for redundancy. These features ensure the switch can meet the critical operational needs of modern data centers.
According to Alan Weckel, who is the Founder and Technology Analyst at 650 Group, the potential of this product is much greater than the one that is immediately obvious at first: ‘Broadening our horizons, as we are only in early stages of AI/ML networking implementation, the market is clearly ripe for rapid progress.’
As stated elsewhere in the paper, the DS4100 is easy to integrate into the open-source systems, enabling users to use the Open Network Install Environment(ONIE) and Celestica’s sturdy SONiC operating system.
The open-networking feature makes sure that the DS4100 is a powerful and expandable system capable of satisfying the increased processing power of the data centers of tomorrow.
