CrowdStrike to Bolster Cloud Security with Adaptive Shield Acquisition

AUSTIN, Texas and Fal.Con Europe, Amsterdam – November 6, 2024 –According to a press release from CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRWD) a major Acquisition is expected from CrowdStrike Holdings in the future.

They are planning to acquire Adaptive Shield, which develops one of the prominent SaaS Security Solutions. This acquisition would enhance CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform by integrating cloud and Identity security features that fill security voids in hybrid ecosystems.

The acquisition was announced during a user conference that CrowdStrike organized, the position of the company as of now enables them to be a single vendor with an entire end-to-end identity-based protection solution from on-premises Active Directory to SaaS applications with everything being delivered on a single platform as opposed to other vendors.

CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz applauded the increasing demand for the combination of secure SaaS and AI.

“After the merger with Adaptive Shield, the uncompromising gap in the resources’ functionality shall allow CrowdStrike to maintain the standards of identity-based protection in the cloud and offer seamless SaaS protection from the Falcon platform,”

Kurtz opened up on how the growing use of the cloud creates more complexity and security threats from human and automated account misconfigurations.

Key Enhancements to the Falcon Platform

  • Comprehensive SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM): CrowdStrike will provide visibility over SaaS identities, misconfigurations, and data exposure across hundreds of applications, enabling more effective threat detection and identity management.
  • GenAI Security Controls: Enhanced monitoring for GenAI SaaS applications will prevent data leaks and ensure AI-driven tools comply with security policies.
  • Unified Hybrid Identity and Cloud Security: The integration of Adaptive Shield with Falcon Identity Protection enables robust security for SaaS, on-premises, and cloud-based environments, offering cohesive identity protection across all facets of the cloud.

CrowdStrike projects that the acquisition will be completed by the end of its fiscal fourth quarter, and this will empower it to further enhance its role in the protection of multi-faceted hybrid cloud systems with an appropriate offering against dynamic identity-based vulnerabilities.
