DataBricks and Anthropic Join Hands To Build Enterprise AI

On March 26, the leading artificial intelligence (AI) firm, Databricks, announced its 5-year partnership with Anthropic to integrate its Claude models directly into the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, according to the press release.

The partnership will allow over 10,000 companies to build and deploy AI agents that can “reason over their own data” with unmatched efficiency and security.

Claude 3.7 Sonnet Is Now Available On Major Cloud Platforms

As part of the deal, Databricks users can now access Claude 3.7 Sonnet via Databricks on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Claude 3.7 Sonnet is the Anthropic’s most advanced hybrid reasoning model with incredible coding capabilities.

Furthermore, businesses can now develop domain-specific AI agents with this integration that not only handle complex tasks but also meet standards for accuracy, security, and access control.

For many industries, building AI agents that can deliver results with compliance is an uphill task. This issue can be resolved with Databricks’ Mosaic AI addresses, which provide a complete framework to build AI agents that reason over enterprise data while maintaining end-to-end governance.

Claude’s advanced models enhance this framework by optimizing real-world tasks. It also ensures high-quality outputs in sectors like healthcare, finance, and retail.

“At Block, we emphasize practical, responsible and secure applications of AI,” said Jackie Brosamer, VP of Data and AI Platform Engineering at Block. “Through our strategic partnership with Databricks, we’re able to leverage the newest and most advanced models, including Anthropic’s Claude, both to support the development and serve as the underlying engine powering our internal deployment of codename goose, our open-source AI agent.

“This federated approach to deploying models allows us to scale AI capabilities flexibly and seamlessly while maintaining security and user control, ultimately fostering greater efficiency and innovation across our teams,” he added further.

Claude will integrate into Databricks via SQL queries and model endpoints, which eliminates the need for manual data replication and reduces costs. Moreover, Databricks’ Unity Catalog will ensure “unified governance.”
