LONDON, Oct. 9, 2024-Dunelm, the UK homewares retailer, pursues transforming its online business using generative AI and has started working with Google Cloud to accomplish this goal.
As part of their Development, they point out that the search and the product recommendation feature on Dunelm.com have the potential to get better with improvements in the current machine learning models and efficient organization.
Once, by late 2023, the company understood the limitations of its search system and upgraded to Google Cloud’s Vertex AI Search for Retail. This improvement is designed to ensure that the company can offer a more unified approach to shopping through its touchpoints and enhance repeat visits further.
John Gahagan, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Dunelm, said:
“A key part of our strategy is to improve the ways we connect products to our customers. Partnering with Google Cloud brings innovative generative AI solutions to our online search capabilities, making it much easier for customers to find the products they want. This is an exciting step forward in providing a best-in-class online shopping experience. By leveraging the power of AI, we’re making it easier than ever for our customers to find inspiration, supporting our growth potential as ‘The Home of Homes.'”
Since its third iteration testing also relined on Retail AI in 2024, the platform has demonstrated remarkable benefits, including a significant reduction in search friction and abandoned search rates.
The eldest new blink is that clients can now search and find even more home-nailed products from Dunelm’s extensive homeware and furniture ranges.
“Website search abandonment costs retailers millions of pounds annually, as consumers are unable to find the specific products they need,”
Said Tara Brady, President, of Google Cloud EMEA.
“We’re proud to collaborate on this important project to use generative AI to improve consumer experiences and shape the future of retail.”
As Dunelm continues to innovate through this partnership, customers can expect more intuitive, personalized, and efficient shopping experiences, strengthening Dunelm’s growth strategy and reinforcing its reputation as “The Home of Homes.”
