Fujitsu, Supermicro Partner on Green AI Technology

Tokyo, Japan – October 3, 2024: Fujitsu and Supermicro have entered into a strategic agreement to promote green AI computing and liquid cooling data center technologies to meet the surging worldwide demand for sustainable computing infrastructure.

The synergy is set to enhance the management of AI-driven workloads with an unprecedented focus on energy efficiency and low carbon footprints.

The collaboration will seek liquid-cooled solutions that integrate advanced cooling techniques for high-performance computing systems while producing low carbon emissions.

These data center technologies which are bottleneck cooling technologies will facilitate the next generations of Artificial Intelligence applications with low power usage.

As the pressure on industry becomes progressively higher to protect the environment from the negative effects of AI, the joint venture of Fujitsu and Supermicro is expected to implement new principles of sustainability.

Fujitsu’s Chief Technology Officer spoke about the essence of the partnership,

‘In this collaboration, we are taking steps towards developing such technologies which not only answer the challenges posed by AI but also meet the needs of the society towards environmental sustainability. Working with Supermicro will enable us to provide the marketplace with state-of-the-art, sustainable products.”

Supermicro’s leadership also reflected,

‘Our liquid-cooled data center technologies are very much aimed at AI workloads. They are performant and have low power requirements and low cooling costs.’

This proposal comes at a time when companies all over the world are looking more and more for ways to ensure that their growing appetite for computational problems like Artificial Intelligence works within the confines of the good environment.

Given the synergies hence available, that will generate many purpose-built structures to optimize practice in future AI systems with Fujitsu and Supermicro in a constant environmental focus in mind.

More relevant information on this collaboration, such as the timeline for deployment and specific technological advancements that have not been disclosed in this release, are likely to be announced shortly because both companies remain at the forefront of developing greener technologies for AI computation.’
