
Google has officially rolled out Gemini 2.0 for ‘everyone’, which is the latest advancement in its high-performance AI models. The launch comes amid when the race for AI development has been intensified.
With the launch, Google is planning to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and affordability for developers and users. The Gemini 2.0 Flash Model is now generally available via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, which is designed for speed and scalability.
Gemini 2.0 Pro, Gemini Flash, and Flash-Lite
The team also introduced the launch of an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Pro. The official announcement calls Gemini 2.0 Pro the “best model yet for coding performance and complex prompts.”
“It is available in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, and in the Gemini app for Gemini Advanced users. We’re releasing a new model, Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite, our most cost-efficient model yet, in public preview in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Finally, 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental will be available to Gemini app users in the model dropdown on desktop and mobile.”
Developers can now integrate it into their applications, which benefit from its ability to process vast amounts of information with a 1-million-token context window. The official blog post also revealed that there will be new improvements in image generation and text-to-speech soon.
Google has also introduced Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite for users who prioritize affordability without giving up quality. The Flash-Lite is more powerful than its previous version, 1.5 Flash while maintaining speed and cost efficiency. With multimodal input capabilities and a large context window, It shows high performance at a lower price for large-scale AI applications.
