The tech giant, Google has unveiled two new features for its AI-based chatbot, Gemini Live, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The tech giant will introduce Live Video and screen-sharing capabilities to Gemini Advanced subscribers later this month, which will enhance real-time interaction with artificial intelligence.
At MWC 2025, Google is hosting an interactive demonstration to showcase new features, alongside the AI-powered Circle to Search’s language translation functionality.
Live Video
The first feature, Live Video, was initially announced at Google I/O 2024 and was developed by DeepMind under Project Astra. It allows users to have live video interactions with Gemini AI, which allows the assistant to analyze visual inputs and provide real-time responses.
A demonstration video introduced by Google shows a user showing their “pottery collection” and asking for color recommendations for a new vase. Gemini swiftly processes the visuals and suggests complementary colors.
Gemini can smoothly process the visuals and suggests complementary colors, showcasing its ability to interpret and assist with real-world scenarios instantly. Once available, eligible users will find a new video icon in the Gemini Live interface.
Screen-Sharing Feature
The second feature, screen-sharing with Gemini, enhances Gemini’s existing “Ask about screen” functionality. Currently, users can share screenshots with Gemini and ask questions. The new update introduces a “Share screen with Live” button, which allows real-time AI interaction.
Users can go through different apps and pages while Gemini provides context-aware assistance. This could range from guiding users through device settings to helping locate specific web pages. Both features are exclusive to Android devices and will be available to Gemini Advanced subscribers later in March.
