Sunnyvale, Calif., Nov. 25, 2024 – A new study from Google Workspace and The Harris Poll reveals that 82% of “young leaders” are already leveraging AI tools in their work, while 98% anticipate AI will shape their industries within the next five years.
The research, based on 1,005 knowledge workers aged 22–39 in the U.S., underscores the widespread integration of generative AI (gen AI) to enhance productivity and foster leadership skills.
According to the report, young leaders are turning to AI for tasks like drafting emails (70%), improving writing tone (88%), and managing meetings on the go (90%).

AI’s influence extends beyond efficiency; it’s seen as a catalyst for growth.
The findings also highlight AI’s potential to boost communication and management. Over 86% of respondents believe AI can help managers improve, while 79% expressed interest in using AI to enhance their own leadership skills.
Hybrid work models amplify the importance of AI-driven collaboration, with 47% citing improved communication as a key benefit.

More than 50% of respondents reported AI’s role in automating routine tasks, allowing a shift toward strategic work. As adoption grows, young professionals are actively sharing AI insights, with 75% recommending tools to peers.
