Gujarat CM Opens AI Center at GIFT City, Developed by Microsoft

Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel has inaugurated the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence at GIFT City. The center will work as a think tank for AI-based innovations, which is developed through a collaboration between the Gujarat government and Microsoft.  

The CM also launched the AI Innovation Challenge and awarded 10 MSMEs for early adoption of AI and IoT-led solutions. 

CM Patel addressed the event and highlighted the state’s commitment to encouraging AI-powered governance and technological development. This reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of bringing India a digital revolution. 

Gujarat Strives to Become Hub for AI Innovations

The AI Center will deploy machine learning, cognitive services, and chatbot solutions, which could drive advancements in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing. 

The Chief Minister praised the swift execution of the project with a positive approach of the government. The state government has created proactive policies to put Gujarat in the forward position as a leader in AI adoption. He also revealed that an AI Task Force has been formed to integrate AI into governance to ensure efficient and citizen-centric services. 

Microsoft India CEO Dr. Rohini Srivathsa specifically mentioned AI’s pivotal role in solving real-world problems. According to him, the rise of AI could provide real-time solutions to critical problems faced by industries across the country, including Gujarat, with a particular focus on startups.

A number of industry leaders have also shared their views on the AI innovations. Mission Director of the India AI Mission, Abhishek Singh noted that over 1,000 SMEs and 300 startups have already benefited from AI adoption in Gujarat.
