Honor has announced a $10 billion investment in AI-powered smartphones and tablets over the next five years. The investment will redefine the company’s identity from a Chinese smartphone brand to a global AI device ecosystem leader.
Honor’s investment shows its plan to integrate artificial intelligence into its product lineup. The mobile company has disclosed its investment plan at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025.

The company’s first priority will be the launch of a new AI-powered smartphone designed to transform user interactions through advanced AI functionalities.
“This includes the industry becoming truly open, enabling seamless collaboration across different operating systems, and building a value-sharing AI device ecosystem,” Li Jian, the new CEO of Honor Devices and former Huawei executive, said.
Honor Grows Its Global Dominance
Honor has already made waves in AI integration. In China, the company has incorporated DeepSeek AI into its YOYO Assistant, and it now plans to boost AU capabilities globally through the Honor Alpha Plan.
In collaboration with key Chinese technology giants, such as Alibaba Group, Tencent, and ByteDance, the mobile company is expected to introduce new AI features for its smartphones. On the global front, it has partnered with Google to integrate Gemini AI into its handsets.
Beyond smartphones, Honor is planning to create an AI-based ecosystem that includes personal computers, tablets, wearables, and other smart devices. Recent AI-based products such as the Magic V3 foldable and Magic 7 Pro show the company’s progress in AI development.
The company also plans to target the international market to enter Indonesia as part of its global expansion strategy. The company aims to launch around 30 new products in the Indonesian market this year.
