Dubai, UAE October 16, 2024- During GITEX GLOBAL 2024, Huawei introduced the fgOTN White Paper for Electric Power with the intent to accelerate the digitization and intelligent development trends within the electric sector.
Further, this document which is comprehensively detailed at a summit titled “Leading Infrastructure to Develop Electric Power Intelligence,” gives the majority of its audience CAD tools and, mostly, software controlling the CAD-systems of distribution networks management.
David Sun, the Vice President of Huawei and CEO of the Electric Power Digitalization Business Unit, stated that the pressing issues for the industry include the provision of multiple points of access and eventually meeting reliable power supply as new energy development fashion dictates.
“We believe that our Intelligent Distribution Solution will enhance their distribution management capabilities within power companies leading to optimization of networks, minimization of losses and increased system reliability,”noted Sun.
He further emphasized that companies shall no longer be contained in shield mode and that Huawei’s systems will encourage them to act.
Meeting eminent scholars like Dr. Eesa M. Bastaki, Honorary Chairman of IEEE UAE Chapter, Marcio Szechtman, ex-chair of Technical Council at CIGRE, in addition to other stakeholders, the event discussed how the digital transformation in power distribution has progressed.
Speaking at the event was Nick Liu, Corporating Vice President of Huawei Enterprise Optical domain, and pointed out the necessity of further developing communication networks, something he claims can be achieved through
“fgOTN that provides reliable fast channels that will help future power grid sophistication”.
With such trends in mobility and power markets, the incorporation of AI in power systems hence has been on the rise. The grasped new Huawei solutions have been made in response to this progress and pave the way for a future electric grid that is smart.
