Brussels, Belgium – The digital services provider, Inetum, has secured an Open Clouds for Research Environments (OCRE) framework agreement by Géant. This permits research, education, and other public sector clients in Belgium access to Microsoft Azure cloud services, a massive step toward speeding up digital transformation.
The reason Inetum has been taken on board is its recognized expertise in Microsoft solutions and innovative approach. Collaborating with key partners Belnet, the Belgian National Research and Education Network, and Microsoft, Inetum will provide tailored cloud solutions to support the public sector, universities, and research centers.
“Our collaboration with Géant, Belnet, and Microsoft perfectly aligns with The Inetum Way, which has the objective of delivering ‘Digital Impact – but faster, easier, and for the good of all’. We believe cloud technology has the potential to transform institutions across Belgium by driving innovation and accelerating digital progress,” said Jo Leemans, Director of Technologies at Inetum.
“Through this collaboration, we are helping our customers to use cloud solutions that accelerate research, foster collaboration, and boost productivity. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our work with them to make cloud adoption more accessible, effective, and impactful for all sectors of society”
Barbara Van Den Haute, Public Sector Director at Microsoft Belgium, added, “The transformative power of Azure Cloud, Microsoft AI, and Security platform technologies is unmatched in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape. We are confident that Inetum, as a key services partner for the Microsoft workloads included in this framework agreement, will drive significant digital impact and innovation for the customers, in close collaboration with us. We are looking forward to working with Inetum to develop intelligent and secure solutions that will set new standards for our joint customers”,”
This framework provides tailored solutions for 3 key sectors – Research and Education, Government Bodies, and Public Sector. Both universities and research institutions, for example, will be able to use the cloud for enhanced computing, safe data storage, and large-scale project collaborations. Federal and regional governmental bodies will be in a position to have scalable uses of these cloud-based technologies, which would enhance operational efficiency, enabling them to develop more efficient public institutions and services. The public sector too will have advantages in terms of cloud infrastructure for modernizing operations, advancing innovation, and lowering costs, ultimately improving efficient public services.
This initiative demonstrates Inetum’s commitment to driving the digital landscape further in Belgium. Businesses can link Microsoft Azure to robust Inetum solutions for advancing research, collaborations, and increased productivity. This association will place Belgium in a high position in terms of digital transformation while ensuring that cloud technology becomes open and has impacts on all sectors.
This strategic agreement represents a milestone in the nation’s technological growth, benefiting education, research, and public services alike.
