Informatica Introduces ‘AI Capabilities’ with New Copilots

Informatica has announced the launch of AI-based enhancements to its flagship platform, Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC). The second-quarter update introduces over 600 new features, including 2 AI copilots and a pre-built GenAI recipe template. This new tool will simplify cloud data integration, unstructured data processing, and master data management.

These advancements are designed to provide businesses with AI-ready data, which is a crucial factor for organizations striving to harness generative AI. “Customers’ AI implementations are only as good as the data they rely on,” said Pratik Parekh, senior vice president of Informatica. “We are not only preparing the right data for AI but also enabling businesses to fast-track their AI applications.”

What are Informatica’s AI Copilots?

At the forefront of this update are two copilots, currently in preview, built on CLAIRE, Informatica’s AI engine. CLAIRE Copilot for Data Integration streamlines data pipeline creation using natural language processing (NLP), which offers context-aware recommendations and automated documentation. Meanwhile, CLAIRE Copilot for iPaas simplifies application-to-application integrations, reducing manual efforts and allowing users to generate multi-step workflows through an intuitive NLP-based interface.

Parekh highlighted the efficiency gains, stating, “Whether it is business process efficiency, whether it’s data pipeline efficiency, whether it’s the ability to now take advantage of unstructured data in the context of AI initiatives, whether it’s working with the AI models that are stored in Databricks, or Google or Snowflake – we are able to actually exploit all of those things to fast track customers’ AI initiatives and AI journey, because we strongly believe [that] customers’ AI implementations are only going to be as good as the data,”

Apart from this, Informatica has also introduced AI-based parsing, classification, and transformation tools. These allow businesses to extract data from formats such as PDFs and text-heavy documents, which makes them actionable for analytics and AI workloads.

Additionally, the launch of GenAI Recipes provides businesses with pre-configured AI logic and working code for seamless integration with platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Databricks, Mosaic AI, and Google Cloud Vertex AI.

Informatica has also integrated CLAIRE GPT into its master data management (MDM) Saas. This addition enables NLP-based search and metadata exploration, which streamlines data governance by automating glossary descriptions and improving team-wide data understanding.
