November 8, 2024 – Infosys has launched its Cloud Radar: Energy Industry Report which emphasizes the impact of cloud technology across the energy value chain, with the industry making cloud expenditure, on average, 37 million dollars annually, only second after that of healthcare.
The report also puts into perspective the role that cloud computing will play when it comes to the energy sector’s transition towards a net-zero and circular economy, noting that modern infrastructure, better decision-making, and innovation will all depend on cloud-based solutions.
Insights show that white energy companies have only realized 45% of the benefits of cloud usage. The technology’s strategic application is crucial for asset management, field operations, and customer services. The report makes assertions focusing on the challenges of adoption cost, cyber security, and cross-organizational management.
The Infosys report cites that organizations that have adopted cloud and AI are more likely to optimize their revenue generation, modernize legacy systems, and accomplish their environmental objectives. It also predicts a continued increase in cloud expenditures, underscoring that effective leadership and responsible cloud adoption are important for achieving net-zero targets.
This report is an extension of the Cloud Radar 2023 by Infosys, broadening the understanding of how digital technologies shape a sustainable future for the energy industry.
