SEOUL, November 5, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is increasing its research and development (R&D) efforts in Vietnam, ensuring its advancement in technology solutions focusing on vehicles’ parts and components and home appliances as well as the webOS platform.
The Extended program spearheaded by LG Electronics Development Vietnam (LGEDV) comes to enhance Vietnam’s rapidly growing tech savage development as support for global solutions.
Since LG decided to be a part of the R&D culture by establishing a branch in Hanoi in 2016, the company has been able to grow and also opened offices in Haiphong and Da Nang, which brought in sections of crucial products including Integrated Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and fully integrated home solutions as part of LGEDV development.

Comments Park Jong-Seok, director LGEDV. The IVI segment that has telematics and AVN in integrated form now accounts for more than fifty percent of LG vehicle component outputs.
The LGEDV extended R&D scope also includes the webOS platform which was developed in 2022 and has grown to integrate support for home appliances as well.
The company is dedicated to developing homegrown talent through training programs organized internally by LG senior engineers, in line with the ICT programs supported by the Vietnamese government.

As the world over LG widens its scope for research and development, the number of people working in Vietnam currently stands at 1,100 and will go over 1,200 by the end of this year highlighting the structure of the company with a strong focus on R&D.
Targeting a total of 22 research centers scattered all over the world, LG has set out to be at the forefront of developing technologies that will be in demand in the future.
