MakeMyTrip’s AI ‘Collections’ To Simplify Hotel Discovery

MakeMyTrip’s AI ‘Collections’ To Simplify Hotel Discovery

The leading Indian online travel company, MakeMyTrip (MMT), has launched its AI-based feature, ‘Collections’, to simplify the process of finding the perfect stay. The tool uses Generative AI and deep traveler data to provide personalized recommendations, which makes hotel searches faster and more intuitive.

The tool is currently available across over 30 major leisure and pilgrimage destinations. In the upcoming months, MMT plans to expand this feature to more cities.

Collections To Help MakeMyTrip Users With Personalized Experiences

Traditional search filters require travelers to sift through multiple parameters to enhance their choices. To address this problem, ‘Collections’ eliminates this complexity by analyzing previous search intent, booking history, and customer reviews to create hyper-personalized suggestions.

Ankit Khanna, Chief Product Officer at MakeMyTrip, stated, “Every product we build is centered around making travel planning seamless and stress-free — and ‘Collections’ is no exception. Traditional search filters require travelers to manually refine options from multiple parameters, but ‘Collections’ takes discovery to the next level by combining deep traveler insights with advanced AI, curating dynamic recommendations based on real travel intent.”

For example, travelers who want to find luxury retreats in Goa are presented with high-end accommodation. On the other hand, people who seek budget-conscious tourists receive cost-effective options based on their preferences.

From Beach Paradise and Wellness Retreats to Stays with Private Ghats in Rishikesh and Adventure Escapes in Coorg, Collections will provide good recommendations to meet diverse travel needs.

Like any other sector, AI is gradually entering the hospitality industry. According to a report by McKinsey, 71% of consumers expect brands to offer personalized experiences. This change will reshape the online travel sector.
