Oct 29, 2024 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) together with Ericsson’s AI-Powered Intent Based Operations (IBO) solution scoops its third FutureNet Asia 2024 Award, positioning Malaysia’s Greener; More Sustainable 5G network as an advanced and cutting-edge digital network.
This award also underscores the critical significance of AI-integrated network management and AI-enhanced user experiences as the 5G network moves to the 5G Advanced phase.
The framework for the IBO solution uses AI to provide network orchestration capabilities to six mobile operators with advanced technologies including the 5G Multi-Operator Core Network (5G MOCN).
AI is uppermost to this intelligent network which automates network operations and enhances performance, making Malaysia’s 5G architecture one of the most advanced in the world.
“DNB’s innovative approach in deploying 5G technology ensures that our network is world-class,”
Remarked DNB CTO Ken Tan, during the award ceremony.
“This award highlights our commitment towards superior networks.”
About the transformational nature of AI, David Hägerbro who leads Ericsson in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh conveyed some hope.
“AI has become a central part of the equation when it comes to controlling disparate pieces of networks and enhancing connectivity in this AI infused era. Malaysia will continue to lead the pack as the award winning technology we have in us will take our country towards becoming the number one digital nation,”.
FutureNet Asia Award is the third award for this solution after the recognitions by FutureNet World and Glotel. Furthermore, it is noticeable that the cooperation between Ericsson and DNB covers the solution of Reduced Capability (RedCap) as well which is intended to advance digital services in various industries.
Future developments include Ericsson’s Release 18 software which is a 3GPP standard that is claimed to offer enhanced security and better user experience as well as less energy consumption.
With the expansion of Malaysia’s 5G network, this operational system which is based on AI and has won awards is able to meet the needs for more advanced forms of connectivity. Other changes in the digital infrastructure of Malaysia offer good potential for the developments of AI-based as well as sustainable networks.
