Espoo, Finland – 3rd October 2024 – Nokia introduced its revamped Corteca software suite with new open standards for seamless home networking and app lifecycle management.
The vendor-neutral cloud platform now offers enhanced Wi-Fi and broadband gateway control, while unlocking new revenue opportunities for third-party developers.
Nokia, already a key player in home networking, launched its upgraded Corteca platform to enable Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to manage and deploy apps effortlessly on the cloud. It aims to enhance the in-home experience and promote enterprise service innovations with its open standards.
Nokia has positioned itself as the pioneer in the networking sector by announcing significant enhancements to its Corteca software suite. These include the Open Container Initiative (OCI), the TR-369 User Services Platform (USP) interface, and prpl Life Cycle Management (LCM), all now supported by the Corteca Home Controller.
The control of broadband gateways, Wi-Fi connectivity, and applications across devices will be unified and made simpler with Nokia’s new solution.
Nokia Corteca is enabling Communication Service Providers (CSPs) with more flexibility in managing and deploying apps by embracing its open standards.
Third-party software providers and CSPs can develop programs that can be easily installed, updated, and deleted with the Corteca Developer Toolkit, giving consumers a better in-home experience and removing vendor lock-in for deveopers.
By leveraging Corteca’s open cloud-based platform, operators can deploy managed Wi-Fi services across multiple suppliers without sacrificing the user experience.
The platform also has an active B2B marketplace with apps to improve gaming, cybersecurity, remote work, diagnostics and other workflows.
Nokia is taking major steps in embracing open standards, pointing out that doing so will reduce costs, increase service innovation, improve consumer security, and personalize experiences.
Moreover, its partnership with F-Secure demonstrates the effectiveness of Nokia’s developer toolkit and containerized apps in the dynamic cloud ecosystem.
