AI-Powered Automation Boosts Nokia's Altiplano for Network Efficiency

October 18, 2024—In the latest development targeting AI-driven operations, or ‘AIOps,’ Nokia has elevated its operations by advancing the existing Altiplano Access Controller to an AI Ahop controller.

These new Intelligent networks assist operators by providing them with intelligent analytics that enable them to spot irregularities sooner, predict network problems, and make better use of network capabilities. The enhancement is projected to improve network capabilities and customer satisfaction worldwide.

The Altiplano platform, used by more than 160 operators thus far, is now enhanced by big data analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance network efficiency.

Operators will be able to use AI applications available on Nokia’s Altiplano Marketplace to make more informed decisions based on facts, which in turn will help ensure a better experience on the network for millions of customers.

“With AI and advanced network analytics, operators can gain deeper insights and make smarter decisions to ensure smooth operations.”

Geert Heyninck, Vice President of Broadband Networks for Nokia Fixed Networks, said:

“By detecting issues faster and optimizing resources, we’re moving closer to fully autonomous networks. This shift empowers operators to enhance customer experiences while letting AI handle complex network management.”

The new capabilities also include the introduction of new features like digital twins which help to visualize and enhance planning while managing the network and thus improving the efficiency of resource allocation.

Should AI market a lot of network complexities, the human operators will just enjoy simplified incident management and errors fixed more rapidly.

Nokia’s Altiplano Access Controller has established itself as the preferred network automation platform for wireless access and automated deployment of some of the largest networks worldwide.

As developments with AI continue, Nokia’s transformation will enable operators to offer a broadband network that is more reliable and scalable.
