TOKYO, November 20, 2024 – NTT DATA has revealed a large enhancement to its AI capabilities courtesy of Microsoft Cloud services, marking a major advancement in enterprise AI solutions. The firm launched tsuzumi, an adaptive model supporting the English and Japanese languages, which was recently added to the list of services provided on Microsoft’s Azure platform in Japan.

“We have a responsibility to foster reliable outcomes with clear business value. NTT DATA helps clients identify new ways to leverage, expand, and optimize data,” said Marv Mouchawar, Head of Global Innovation at NTT DATA.

The tsuzumi model draws on NTT’s 40-year expertise in research of Natural Language Processing and offers specialized functions in Japanese and English processing.

“By collaborating with NTT, we are making the tsuzumi LLM bilingual model available in the Azure Model Catalog,” stated Stephen Boyle, Global Leader, GSI, ESI, and Advisory Partners at Microsoft.

“This model delivers efficient Japanese AI capabilities, that excel in summarization, content generation, and information retrieval that makes it easy for customers to build innovative AI solutions.”

In addition to these advancements, NTT DATA launched its GenAI TechHub platform, which aims to speed up the integration of AI within organizations. The platform achieved remarkable figures capturing 40% less deployment time translating to reduced costs as well. NTT DATA’s Singapore-based Coding platform, which is in-built with Azure OpenAI, automates 80% of the coding work, thus shortening the coding time by half.

NTT DATA’s determination to pursue AI-based solutions is correlated with its notable investments in research and development activities, ranking 12th globally in GenAI patents. The organization is in the process of enhancing its AI services, while still observing its AI Guidelines, which are aimed at providing lasting benefits to both businesses and society.
