OpenAI CEO Hints at Launch of New Feature; Sparks Discussion

Amid the cut throat competition in the artificial intelligence space, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman hinted at the launch of a new feature on April 10, which he has been excited about for so long.

In the latest X post, he expressed his excitement about the upcoming new feature. However, details still remain unclear, which sparked strings of speculation about its possibility.

While so many people are expecting the announcement of GPT 5 or any other ChatGPT models, the possibility of this seems less likely as Sam Altman explicitly mentioned “feature” in his post.

On April 4, Sam Altman wrote in a post on X that OpenAI is preparing to release o3 pro and o4-mini after all, probably in a couple of weeks, and then do GPT-5 in a few months.

He also explained the reason behind the delay in the ChatGPT model, “there are a bunch of reasons for this, but the most exciting one is that we are going to be able to make GPT-5 much better than we originally though. we also found it harder than we thought it was going to be to smoothly integrate everything. and we want to make sure we have enough capacity to support what we expect to be unprecedented demand.”

Is Sam Altman talking about Sama Automate?

When X user asked the AI bot ‘Ask Perplexity’ about what the hint was referring to, it mentioned that Sam Altman is possibly referring to the launch of Sama Automate.

Sama Automate is the new data automation platform that combines AI with human-in-the-loop validation. It plans to boost efficiency in data annotation while maintaining high-quality standards, reducing annotation time by 40% so far.
