SAN DIEGO, CA – October 10, 2024: Qualcomm Technologies and Honeywell launched today an innovative partnership aimed at improving the energy industry with AI tools and 5G technologies.
This will increase energy efficiency and automation through the combined use of Qualcomm AI processors and Honeywell’s app offerings to better control and use available data flow in business operations.
This collaboration will help energy companies use lighter portable tablets, low-energy wireless sensing devices, and associated gateways to manage key installations. This will improve the quality of feedback and also help in inter-sectoral digitalization.
“This collaboration with Honeywell enhances how industries and businesses interact with their environments through intelligent and responsive technology. Our recent acquisition of Sequans’ 4G IoT technology adds to Qualcomm Technologies’ broad portfolio, further strengthening our technology offerings for Industrial IoT applications.”
Stated Nakul Duggal, Group General Manager of Qualcomm Technologies.
Honeywell’s Field PKS will be intrinsic by Qualcomm’s AI plugging in which distant ends of plant space will be interconnected capturing more data in boundaries. Thus within less time technicians will be able to make decisions based on the gathered intelligence.
“The combination of Qualcomm Technologies’ industry-leading on-device AI processors with Honeywell’s AI-enabled technology will help field workers to work smarter, make systems more efficient and improve the overall performance of the process industry,”
Said Pramesh Maheshwari, President of Honeywell Process Solutions.
“With the introduction of AI solutions such as Honeywell’s Field PKS, Multi-Modal Intelligent Agent and sensor technologies, we are advancing what’s possible for the process industry with mobile field technicians and autonomous operations.”
This partnership is an outcome of previous collaborative initiatives that commenced with the coming up with an AI-supported mobile Multi-Modal Intelligent agent on the year 2025 allowing field workers to command handheld gadgets using voice, pictures, and video.
With a continued shift in energy towards efficiency as well as sustainability, this partnership is quite strategic in leveraging artificial intelligence and wireless technologies towards transforming future energy systems.
As the cooperation proceeds, more information about the campaign will be disclosed in the following few months.
