London, UK – November 21, 2024-American company HPE has announced a collaboration with European company RWE as a leading force in renewable energy in order to utilize the power of AI-based weather modeling with the use of HPE Private Cloud AI.
They aim to change the way energy resources are managed by improving forecasts for the weather, which is a vital aspect today in renewable energy business operations.
HPE’s managed private cloud solution which has been developed in partnership with NVIDIA as a fully integrated package will be used by RWE Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory to enhance operational decision-making in the transition to cleaner energy.
According to Simon Tarplee, Commercial AI Lead at RWE Supply & Trading, the partnership solves a problem, stating that
“AI allows us to optimize processes and even develop green technologies.”
This issue is an integral part of RWE’s strategy, ‘Growing Green’ which promotes decarbonization efforts with 2040 aiming for net-zero emissions.
Utilizing HPE Private Cloud AI, RWE researchers are able to quickly create and implement models using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for vast data sets.
Being an on-premise solution enables the satisfaction of data policy requirements whilst also permitting domain-wide scalability.
“HPE Private Cloud AI gives RWE room for innovation and expansion at scale,”
Remarked HPE CTO Fidelma Russo.
“This enables greater efficiencies in renewable energy production.”
By incorporating artificial intelligence in weather modeling, RWE would be able to enhance its operational efficiencies by more accurately predicting energy supply and demand.
The collaboration also highlights the importance of AI technologies in solving climate-related problems and accelerating the transition towards renewable energies.
