November 27, 2024, Seoul, South Korea- Samsung Electronics has today introduced a fresh approach on its leadership which is expected to make the management of the semiconductor business and innovation an easy task.
Vice Chairman Young Hyun Jun, already the Head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division, will add the memory business in addition to the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology to his responsibilities.
Jinman Han was made President and Head of the Foundry Business, and Seok Woo Nam will be President and Chief Technology Officer for the Foundry Business, which has been newly established.
It is also of great interest to point out that the power relations have changed in August 2018 in this aspect which will now allow Samsung to focus on developing more advanced semiconductor technologies, as these appointments are the key to the company’s development of memory and foundry technologies.

JH Han, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of the DX Division stated. Focusing on operations it is planned to consolidate the American operations focused on semiconductors who also worked on SSSD development thus Jinman Han is expected to enhance Samsung’s competitiveness in the foundry region.
For his part, Seok Woo Nam, a multimedia and semiconductor manufacturing characteristics expert, addressed innovation of the process technology.
The reshuffle also includes Hansung Ko, CEO of Samsung Bioepis, being tasked with heading the Future Business Division with a focus on finding new business development, especially in biotechnology and advanced AI applications.
“This transition allows us to look into AI-led opportunities for the next level of growth,” said Hansung Ko.
Other shifts are related to Yong Kwan Kim moving to the position of President of Management Strategy of the DS Division and Wonjin Lee occupying the position of the President Global Marketing Office.
Samsung Electronics is taking drastic measures in order to respond to changing market conditions which highlights the intent of the company ever to be ahead in the semiconductor and AI-driven business.
