October 24, 2024, | Seoul, Korea – Samsung finished the installation of six Samsung Onyx cinema LED screens at the Pathé Palace cinema in Paris, which is a remarkable technological boost for this iconic cinema.
There are four 4K screens and two 2K screens in this display that have been greatly improved by the architecture of the page designed by Renzo Piano.
Menno van den Berg, the President of Samsung Electronics France said this about the installation:
“These six state-of-the-art Samsung Onyx LED screens work in a stunning contrast to the historic cinema – a synthesis of old and new that offers a completely new perspective to the moviegoers.”
The new Onyx screens set-up has six times the brightness of a traditional film projector, with HDR technology for enhanced vividness. Pathé Palace boasts 3D technology equipped with an easier method of viewing.
Jacques Durand, the Chief Information Officer of Pathé Group mentions,
“Samsung Onyx screens take the movie showing experience to a different level with deep blacks and high definition images making every scene look like real.”
Also, in the cinema’s lobby, apart from the Onyx screens, Simon utilized an 8K MICRO LED display by Samsung, called The Wall, which incorporates artificial intelligence for enhancing image quality in real time.
The installation seeks to shift the perspective of the audience towards the movie and place Pathé Palace at the center of entertainment technology development.
It was noted that the alliance between Samsung and the Pathé Group is expected to go on and this is a landmark in their collaboration in the attempt to change conventional models of viewing movies with AI-assisted screens.
