Snowflake’s Strategic AI Expansion
“The integration is very significant as it enables enterprises to build AI-powered applications seamlessly with Snowflake’s secure environment,” Stephen Catanzano, an analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, now part of Omdia said. “It simplifies AI deployment, enhances data security and supports multimodal AI use cases — text, audio, video — allowing businesses to leverage advanced AI capabilities without complex integrations.”
“This makes us the only data platform to seamlessly host both Anthropic and OpenAI, world-leading models enabling our customers to build data agents while ensuring that their data remains secure in Snowflake,” said Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO of Snowflake.
Cortex AI is a suite of AI-based tools, which is designed to help businesses analyze unstructured data and develop AI applications. It supports models from leading AI providers, including Anthropic, Meta, Mistral, OpenAI, and DeepSeek.
Snowflake’s Cortex Agents use AI to plan and execute tasks while refining responses for greater accuracy. The service, available via a REST API, integrates with Cortex Analyst for structured data processing and Cortex Search for retrieving data from unstructured data.
Financially, Snowflake is enjoying its upward trajectory. The company reported product revenue of $943 million in Q4 2024, a 28% year-over-year increase. Its full-year FY25 revenue stood at $3.5 billion with a 30% rise.
