STATION F, Huawei Boost Sustainable Growth For Tech Startups

STATION F, Huawei Launch Incubation Program For Tech Startups

Paris, France and Shenzen, China – 11th October 2024 – STATION F, the world’s largest startup campus, has partnered with Huawei to launch an innovative Startup Incubation Program. The program aims to support European tech startups with the right resources for a green transition and sustainability-driven growth.

The move aligns with Huawei’s broader sustainability strategy, with a goal to help early-stage startups commit to an ecological transition by addressing environmental challenges. It also gives STATION F, active in climate and sustainability programs, access to early-stage startups.

The program will prioritize its focus on startups developing software for industrial, retail, or new energy vehicle sectors. Huawei believes its cloud and ecosystem resources will be vital in supporting the growth of such startups while reducing environmental impact.

Huawei announced the joint program with a post on X:

The Startup Incubation Program will offer selected European startups up to US$150,000 in Huawei Cloud credits, with personalized attention for its integration. The startups will also receive guidance and mentorship from industry experts, as well as access to potential investors and partners from Huawei’s global ecosystem. Moreover, the program will help startups improve visibility with joint marketing efforts.

Yet, the competition for the program will be high, as only 10 startups will be selected for the 7-month-long program. Further, STATION F says startups in the climate and sustainability sector raised more capital than any other sector in 2024, including the burgeoning AI startup ecosystem. This aligns with Huawei’s role as a leader in the green transition, investing almost a quarter of its annual revenue in Research & Development.

Talking about the move, Roxanne Varza, the Director at STATION F, commented,

“We are so proud to welcome Huawei to campus and even more proud to be able to work with more sustainability-focused businesses. Huawei will also heavily contribute to our international ecosystem on campus.”

The launch of the incubation program signals an increasing interest in green technologies, and startups with an eye on sustainability may outpace traditional startups and entrepreneurs for funding and mentorship soon. Apart from the collaborative aspects, tech startups will also get access to 500 investment funds, enriching the program’s potential to revitalize sustainable growth for European startups.
