November 13, 2024, UAE –Ericsson and e& UAE have launched the AIR 3229 dual-band Massive MIMO radio, the first of its kind in the region which enhances 5G network deployment through increased capacity and performance and at the same time supports e& UAE Environmental Goals.
This radio allows operation at both the 2600MHz and 3500MHz built-in high-capacity 5G sites which together increases net radio capacity and the number of sites by 100 percent. This modern solution improves the quality of networks by 20%, and cuts energy usage while cutting down on the loading on the towers by 25%.
The new deployment represents a considerable leap in e&’s 5G deployment plan in the UAE, which seeks to provide reliable and environmentally friendly solutions to the increasing levels of users.
“At e& UAE, we seek to deploy technologies that improve our networks without compromising the environment,”
Expressed Marwan Bin Shakar, Senior Vice President, Access Network Development, e& UAE.
“The dual-band Massive MIMO radio also helps us improve our scope of connection and minimize our carbon emission levels.”
Ekow Nelson, Vice President and Head of the Global Customer Unit for e& in the Middle East and Africa, announced,
“Our engagement with e& UAE reflects our commitment to e& for 5G. The deployment of dual-band MIMO contributes to e& UAE’s ability to provide dependable connectivity of high performance.”
As the rollout progresses, both Ericsson and e& UAE continue to apply their focus on responsibly delivering 5G services throughout the UAE with scope for further development on clean networks that can easily be deployed across the country.
